DrDisrespect is one of the most infamous YouTubers on the internet. Even though fans love to watch his streams, many take his persona of a rude middle-aged guy far too seriously. Eventually, he made his name doing what others may consider disrespectful, thus the name. This has made him a sort of center of attraction for many other YouTubers.

Recently, DrDisrespect announced his game production company ‘MidnightSociety’, developing a new kind of Battle Royale by the name of ‘Project Moon’. The announcement was well received by his fans, although some started criticizing the idea. After this, DrDisrespect took the criticism to his stream and started defending it.

What was the criticism about?

‘Project Moon’ is rumored to be a ‘Verticle Battle Royale’. The concept of vertical battle royale is that the game revolves around a fire that starts at the bottom of the building, and players fight each other as they try to reach the top and escape using various exit points.

Normally, the concept of battle royale is stuck to the same idea with an energy field closing while the players fight to remain alive. DrDisrespects’ game, however, claims that it will rip off any previous prejudices and make a genre of its own. This claim was the main reason why the fans got upset.

Fans of both Call of Duty and Fortnite stormed in to criticize his gameplay and said that he should look into his playability before making some games. Although Doc is not the kind of person who would take something like this personally. But since the game he is developing is very close to him, he got furious.

He said, “We’re still the studio and everyone knows this. It’s common sense. We’re the big vision, we’re the visionaries. I’m the visionary guy. We’re gonna build our game with the help of the community influencing potentially certain things and aspects and features potentially.” He also said, “We are not backed by publishers who have given us 100 million dollars”.

He then again took the comments to his stream and asked fans to wait before making such claims. Notably, Project Moon is Doc’s dream project, and he had been planning for years to make a game like this.

What to expect from DrDisrespect produced Project Moon?

If what’s rumored becomes true, then Project Moon will be one of its kind game ever made. The game might also create history to become a game developed by a popular streamer and gamers themselves. Project Moon will also have a Founders access pass for several players and will be eligible to create its own NFTs.

According to Doc, “Listen, in regards to NFTs you don’t have to have NFTs to play the game. It doesn’t change your experience of the game once it releases and it will continue to be free-to-play. You can’t buy your way to win.”
