The newest development in The Legend of Zelda series has been the talk of the town for quite some time. Released in May, this game superseded the expectation of the fans. Everybody seemed to enjoy their adventures in the land of Hyrule. Harder compared to its previous game, Breath of the Wild, Tears of Kingdom, the newest game offered more challenges for its players. 

Now, after a month after its release on Switch, Tears of the Kingdom was seen absolutely ruling the hearts of its fans. Following its success, Nintendo considered Tears of Kingdom as one of the best-selling games in The Legend of Zelda franchise. It seemed that the game successfully made its way to the fans’ hearts.

Tears of Kingdom appeared as the most downloaded 

From an interesting paraglider to exploring Hyrule, Tears of Kingdom was an amazing experience for the players. Set in an open-world format, this game offered new skills and a vast map for exploration with an intense scientifically improvised sandbox. Tears of Kingdom was the ultimate release in The Legend of Zelda franchise, which brought massive success to Switch as well. Switch sales suddenly increased at a great level in Japan. According to Nintendo’s official website, this game brought an extraordinary sales record for Switch in Japan. 

According to Famitsu Magazine’s data, Tears of Kingdom also ruled the chart of most-downloaded games in Japan months after its release. Although games like Among Us, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Pikmin 2 made it to the list, Fans seemed to stick to their favorite The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom. Nintendo’s official website brought in the list containing thirty games. Although mostly Nintendo-exclusive titles are found, some third-party games like Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collections also made it to the top thirty games list. 

Is Tears of Kingdom Japan’s current favorite?

Although Famitsu and Nintendo both didn’t officially disclose much about the exact figure of sales, Famitsu’s recent news on Tears of Kingdom proved its higher sales in Japan. This game reportedly sold over 1.7 million copies only in Japan after its release in May. All of these data evidently proved the game’s success in Japan. Tears of Kingdom begins with both Link and Zelda beneath the Hyrule castle. This time, players will investigate a toxic cloud.
