The Sonic franchise is currently witnessing a golden run this year. While the sequel to the first movie adaptation is breaking box office records worldwide, there’s also the hype for an upcoming installment from Sega.

This anticipated title is none other than Sonic Frontiers, which was initially announced at the end of 2021 during The Game Awards. Now a recent news on the game will surely increase the curiosity among those who are ardent fans of the furry blue speedster.

Sega will soon reveal major Sonic Frontiers news ahead of the 2022 release!

For those uninitiated, the upcoming game is the first-open world entry in the long-running saga from Sega. Players will explore the Starfall Islands while taking on the role of the beloved character Sonic.

The map area will consist of various biomes such as flowery fields, forests, ancient ruins, and deserts. Upon its original reveal last year, Sonic Frontiers was even compared to the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, in terms of its open-world design.

Overall, the franchise is getting an insane amount of appreciation from fans across the globe. All thanks to the astonishing success of the recently released Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie. But along with that, the Sonic Frontiers has its own hype which is only escalating further each day, until the main launch happens towards the end of 2022.

Recently, there was a live stream session from Sega, held on YouTube. During the stream, Sega of America’s social media manager Katie Chrzanowski was asked about new updates on the awaited game.

And Chrzanowski surprised everyone by sharing a major news. While teasing Sonic Frontiers, she said:

“See a lot of people asking about Frontiers, we don’t have news on Frontiers today but don’t worry soon. It’s still set to come out this holiday, so we will have news for you this year, don’t worry.”
