Elden Ring has been out for a very little while now, and fans are enjoying it a lot. However, the best-rated game of 2022, just like any other video game, is not invulnerable to glitches or performance issues. And recently, Xbox owners reported major co-op related network problems in the FromSoftware title.
For many Xbox users of Elden Ring, it seemed as though the connection was broken while trying the co-op feature on the console. Due to some reason, the online system wasn’t working on the Souls-like open-world RPG.

Elden Ring fans confused and divided over the Xbox situation!
As reported by Windows Central, critics’ favorite game of the year was witnessing serious co-op-based issues on the Xbox. And it has been happening since the launch on Friday, February 25.
This was weird to see, especially considering the reviews Elden Ring received ahead of its debut. For a lot of users, it was an indication that the game would play out without any obstacle. But that wasn’t the case, especially for the Xbox owners, as they soon began to report network-related errors.
Elden Ring's co-op and network features are broken on Xbox, and @BandaiNamcoUS @BandaiNamcoEU has yet to acknowledge the problem.

Following this kind of situation, lots of fans were in a state of confusion. Because they were not able to believe that even this highly-rated game could turn out like this.
But again, not everyone was agreeing on this Xbox-based issue. According to other players, the co-op related network issue was fixed later on their device.
Still, those who actually faced this glitch were had some negative opinions on Elden Ring’s performance on Xbox. “This launch has been a mess,” wrote one frustrated user.
Have a look at the reactions yourself.
Yeah, same issue here. Can’t login at all. This launch has been a mess.

lol seriously what game did the media review if they didn’t find even the basic issues on the game … isn’t there job to find critical aspects of the game so developers make better games for us?

Why does it feel like the Xbox version was an afterthought
— nathvincil (@nathvincil) February 26, 2022
Main character is on my PS5 version but I’ve been wanting to play with my brother on Xbox. Network hasn’t worked since launch on it.

I bought the PC version for the best options/graphics. And got the Xbox version just to co-op…….. Yep haven't been able to login to play with friends yet my PC version co-ops just fine. What a freaking mess.

Can you get online at all on xbox? I've done a few co op boss fights on PS5 but games quit back to title as I've lost connection to server

I have ran into so many bugs on all versions. My XBOX version crashes to menu. All version's bloodstains don't work. I have had numerous enemies just straight up freeze on me. I am really failing to understand how this is the highest-rated game of all time and im a From fanboy

Others were quite defensive and mentioned that Elden Ring is all good and only has minor issues.
I only played co-op once during the review period and had no issues. The frame drops were not nearly bad enough for me to say "THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM."

Like problems right now or in general?
I played co-op yesterday for hours just fine.
My only "complaint" is how the co-op system work to begin with but that's a deliberate design choice— ItsDanny (@ItsDannyGamer) February 26, 2022
It’s working fine for me on the original Xbox so I hope it works for all you soon. Great game it’ll all get patched soon. And for those saying “how are the reviews so good” the reviews didn’t have any problems
— Sparks (@TheRealSparxius) February 26, 2022
How could they know that the online systems are broken? The review builds didn't have the online services active
— Daniel Engel (@MajorityShark) February 26, 2022
This isn't an issue critics look at when they review a game. Anyone in game development or an actual critic knows there are going to be growing pains and adjustments that are going to be made at launch for online services.

Maybe a small delay would have been good, my guess is that this game will be totally fixed very quickly though
