Leaks Suggest a Special Nintendo Direct Event is Lined-up For This Week

Nintendo might conduct its Nintendo Direct event sooner than most of us had expected. For the uninitiated, the Nintendo Direct event is a presentation by the company where several new games and other announcements are made.
As already confirmed, Nintendo won’t be participating in the Tokyo Game Show 2021. Many have speculated that the company might be planning its Direct event. A recent patent leak for a new Nintendo Switch controller finally may have the date for the upcoming Direct event.
Nintendo Direct event: What does the new leak tell us?

A Twitter user named RostiResetEra, in her tweet, exposed the short-term confidentiality of the new Nintendo Switch controller patent. What is interesting here to note is the date. The patent is scheduled to end on September 24, 2021, instead of March 2022.

This shift in the dates might indicate that the new controller can be officially announced on September 24, seemingly during its Direct event. However, there is no official word from Nintendo concerning this as of today.

But the likelihood of an event happening can’t be entirely ignored. If something like a Direct event is on the cards, the company can announce the schedule to the public a day or two before. If the company chooses to drop this year’s Direct event, players still have plenty of things to look forward to this year.

The new Nintendo Switch controller will be uncovered on September 24, and on October 8, 2021, Metroid Dread will arrive for Switch, which will conclude the main Metroid storyline. Players can also expect a final trailer before we inch closer to the launch day.
Apart from this, there are also rumors hinting that the Nintendo Switch release of Alan Wake Remastered is also coming. The new game is set for launch on October 5th. Nintendo via its Direct event can answer all these rumors.
