Last month, popular eSports organization, Sentinels made one of the most surprising announcements in a long time. Shroud broke his retirement from competitive gaming and entered Valorant’s scene with the Sentinels picking him up! Moreover, Shroud shares a special synergy with one of the most popular Valorant pros, SEN TenZ. The duo also flaunts a nickname that has become extremely popular not only among fans, but also among casters!

Although the Sentinels had some of the biggest talents on its roster before Shroud, the team had a tough time at the VCT Challengers in 2022. Lack of synergy, coupled with some tough luck stopped them from climbing up the ladder. And now, they are competing for a wildcard entry to the Valorant Champions Tour this year.

The Last Chance Qualifiers for VCT 2022 started a few days back, but the matches for the NA region were scheduled for August 4. As it happens, the first face-off was between the Sentinels and The Guard! Not only were fans vouching for the Sentinels, but many also tuned in to see Shroud’s return to competitive gaming. The live stream reportedly crossed a record in viewership!

A special Mike Tyson reference to two Valorant Pros!

Fans regard Shroud aka Michael Grzesiek as the pioneer of competitive first-person shooter games. He would, of course, strive to continue his legacy in Valorant. However, TenZ being by his side, seems to have made it easier for Shroud. Moreover, their names mix together to make an unbeatable boxing pro’s name!

It was truly a beautiful combo of Viper (Shroud) and Chamber (TenZ) of The Sentinels on offense, as they tackled the defending KAY/O (Jonah), Sova (neT), and Chamber (Trent) of The Guard in a nail-biting situation. Here’s the full clip!

TenZ aka Tyson Ngo inspired a generation of Valorant fans to pursue a competitive journey. Before joining the Sentinels, Tyson was a part of Cloud9’s CS:GO and Valorant roster. The former CS:GO pro made his switch to Valorant during the game’s release.

Like TenZ, Shroud, too, was a part of Cloud9’s CS:GO roster once upon a time. With Shroud joining the Sentinels’ Valorant, fans have been regarding them as an unbeatable duo.

The Sentinels lost yesterday’s Upper Bracket Quarterfinals against The Guard. But, their performance featured a visible boost since their last match in VCT Challengers. Next, they’ll be competing in the Lower Bracket Round 1 against an unannounced team.
