Mortal Kombat 1 has been one of the most anticipated releases of 2023. The latest entry to the long-standing fan-favorite franchise had fans hyped for months. A radical change in gameplay and a long list of characters, both new and old, got fans speculating about what to expect in the game. However, now that we’ve finally arrived at its release date, not everyone is happy about the game’s visuals on the Nintendo Switch.

The early teaser trailers got our attention thanks to stunning details. The Outworld looked gorgeous and the characters’ designs were pristine. The devs also announced that Mortal Kombat 1 will come to the Nintendo Switch, like MK11. However, the decision hasn’t had its fans since the game looks horrid on the Nintendo console.

Redditor highlights major issues with Mortal Kombat 1 on the Switch

Nintendo Switch was released in 2017. The handheld console is one of the most sold consoles in the world and has a long range of exclusive titles. Along with these exclusive games, the console also supports third-party titles. However, allegations have surfaced every now and then complaining that the Switch struggles to run high-demand titles at times. Despite such allegations, Mortal Kombat 1 has been made available on the 6-year-old console. The results are, let’s say, not what we’d expect for a game released in 2023.

A Reddit pot on the group r/NintendoSwitch claims that Mortal Kombat 1 is “nearly unplayable” on the Switch. The fan claims that even the main menu background doesn’t; look like it was pre-made. The player also claims that titles like MK1 that are ported to the Switch are generally not well-made. However, given the high price of the game, the Redditor thinks the devs should address the issues ASAP.

The Redditor also faced significant lag while trying to pause the game mid-fight. Also, their experience with the in-game characters’ hair or fabric is something we’re not sure we’d want to come across either. The player also faced severe issues with a Positioning tutorial.

Since the post was shared on the group, other fans have come forward claiming they did expect something like this to happen. For a game like Mortal Kombat 1 to run lag-free on the Switch wasn’t something many had a lot of hope about.

This fan is pretty confident that the Switch shouldn’t have even received Mortal Kombat 1 and claimed that the console’s old hardware isn’t up to the mark.
