Delta Force fans have something to look forward to after many, many years. With the last entry to the series being released 14 years ago, NovaLogic is finally looking to reboot the franchise. A new Delta Force is most likely to make fans of the series extremely happy. What’s more, the new game is rumored to have large-scale battles that well may steal Battlefield’s thunder. Fans expect the old veteran in the FPS niche to reclaim its throne with the upcoming title.

New Delta Force in the making by the CoD Mobile devs

Released in 1998 for PC, Delta Force is closer to a MilSim rather than your average pick-up-and-shoot. Based on the actual military unit with the same name, Delta Force became a widely popular series. However, multiple titles from both Battlefield and Call of Duty kind of put NovaLogic’s franchise off the radar. Thus, the announcement of a new Delta Force has reasonably created quite a buzz in the community. A thirty-second clip has been making all the rounds on social media platforms that are promising something massive on the way.

The game is reportedly being designed by the TiMi Studio, which is also responsible for games like CoD Mobile and Pokemon Unite. It’s expected that Gamescom 2023 opening day will reveal more information on the new Delta Force release. If so, then Geoff Keighley’s claims that shouldn’t expect too much from this year’s Gamescom are already looking suspicious.

The game looks like it’s based on the events of the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993. The same battle also was the basis for the 2001 movie Black Hawk Down.

Valorant X Battlefield?

However, there’s something to note from the released clip. The new Delta Force showcases some weapons and scenarios that just aren’t on par with the events that unfolded in 1993. We can see recon arrows and players “powering up” that just couldn’t have happened at the Battle of Mogadishu. However, we’ll have to wait till August 22 to know more about the game. For now, these elements look more Valorant than Battlefield.

With Battlefield suffering a massive slump thanks to Battlefield 2042, the new Delta Force may just make the best out of the situation for itself. The new game is expected to have “large-scale PvP” battles that will rival Battlefield. Even though Battlefield Bad Company, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield 1 were all very popular among players, the franchise’s latest title has failed to follow up on their success. Many of these games still have full servers with players in the queue. Tell us your excitement for a new Delta Force in the comments below.
