The PlayStation 6 is not released yet. An official statement regarding its release has not yet been issued by Sony. But it would surely take many more years for Sony to bring this console to the fans. According to Jason Schreier, major AAA titles that would have begun production now will likely be aimed at PlayStation 6.
Fun fact: Video game production cycles have gotten so long that if a big-budget game studio started working on a brand new project today, it would likely be for the PlayStation 6

Additionally, he feels that some titles like Elder Scrolls would likely skip consoles. That is, the production time of these would be so long that they won’t be available for the upcoming and already existing consoles.

Elder Scrolls will probably skip two
— Jason Schreier (@jasonschreier) January 2, 2023
Already some games that are expected to release in the near future are expected to do so, especially the much anticipated Rockstar’s product GTA 6, which has already skipped a console generation.
Many from the community expressed their thoughts on this
Many gamers from the Twitter community responded to these speculations put forward by Jason. Mostly, many are supporting his statements and think parallel to the journalist.
I so dont want this to be true. But I can totally see why it would be true.

It HAS skipped two. Original release date for Skyrim was when ps3 was in circulation. The next actual Elder Scrolls game (NOT ESO) hasnt released and were on ps5. It likely wont be done until the ps6 is released

Some people think that it would be a close call, and maybe Elder Scrolls would skip by a very small margin.
On the other hand, many are quite optimistic about the game. They think that the game most probably will come at the end of the current console era and would incorporate the future and the current era. And then they would work on major updates to the game.
Based on how they released Skyrim (and kept releasing Skyrim) I suspect that it won't skip current gen. That being said, it will probably end up coming out at the very tail end of it's existence, launching on both the new console and old one. Then they'll release it 1000 times.

Furthermore, Elder Scrolls is not the only game people think would take ample time to produce. Other games according to the community, that would most likely skip a few console generations are Fallout 5 and Half-Life 3.
