The next-gen console is said to be a straightforward successor to Nintendo Switch. Albeit, with a bunch of new features that may surprise pretty much everyone. The device will supposedly be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 239. And if this is the case, let’s be clear of one thing – it will be miles ahead of where Nintendo Switch is today.

This chip supports DLSS, and even Ray tracing to some extent. Simply put, it will really make it capable of playing almost every title coming to the Nintendo Switch in 4K. And we might even see Link running past puddles that will reflect him pretty accurately.

There are also rumors that this console might feature a very experimental VR headset, combined with AR in some weird manner. It is not even surprising, that’s exactly how Nintendo does things, they put a new twist on everything they have done before. And VR+AR companion device for its next-gen system might be the exact twist fans can get this time around.

So, when can they expect the awaited console? As it has been said numerous times, Nintendo has already shifted its attention to its next-gen console. And Tears of the Kingdom might end up being the Switch’s last hurrah.

And this hurrah, if some analysts are to be believed, will be selling a number of Switch units. This is why there are very slight chances of the next-gen system coming around anytime soon.

Although near the end of 2023, fans can expect a reveal, the launch itself might not be happening anytime before 2024. There are plenty of Switch OLEDs in Nintendo’s warehouses, and the Holiday season is when people buy most of them. Which means if the Mario maker even mutters the words Next-gen or Switch 2, people will skip everything to buy the product during the holiday season. Nintendo has a very powerful, new system coming, but it might not be available before the next year’s debut.
