Call of Duty is witnessing massive changes ever since the full announcement was revealed during this month’s NEXT event. The fans are currently enjoying the beta version of the awaited Modern Warfare II installment. However, it will feature even more content upon full release.

This becomes quite evident from the newly leaked information about a mystery mode which is yet to be unveiled in a detailed manner by Activision. Going by an insider’s report, this unseen mode will be the most ambitious one so far in the franchise’s history, arriving inside Modern Warfare II.

There’s not much intel available right now for Raids which was first announced in September NEXT. More than the DMZ mode itself, it looks like this one will become the center of attraction for many players. At least that’s what the latest leak, coming from reputed insider Tom Henderson, suggests.

Infinity Ward‘s main blog, for now, describes Raids as “a three-player cooperative engagement requiring teamwork and strategic, puzzle-solving thinking in-between bouts of intense combat.” Basically, there will be two puzzles involved initially in Raids as part of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. One will focus on numbers and the other one on the water maze.

Modern Warfare II Raids mode explained

Coming onto Henderson’s report, via Insider Gaming, Raids will be the most in-depth mode ever in a Call of Duty title. Sources close to him revealed this information while also expanding on it further. “AI will play an important role in Modern Warfare 2 raids,” said one of the sources.

Henderson also mentioned that the first level in the mode will be centered around a submarine base. A team of three will need to infiltrate it in order to complete their mission. Apart from infiltrating, the team will need to “go underwater and share an oxygen tank to keep breathing,” said one source according to the scooper.

This format will follow in other raids as well, involving teams having to make coordination in order to survive and accomplish the given tasks. “It’s like Destiny, but more tactical,” said another source. Most importantly, Henderson also revealed three missions that could hint towards Raids being a multi-level mode. Numbers Puzzle, Incursion, and Water Maze are said to be the three Raids missions.

Modern Warfare II releases on October 28, 2022, for all the supported platforms. It will make its way on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net and Steam.
