Animal Crossing: New Horizons recently completed one year of launch and Nintendo made the game’s highly anticipated update 1.9.0 available to download.

The new Custom Design Pro Editor+ brings more design slots and items to customize

Update 1.9.0 contains an upgrade for the Custom Design app on the NookPhone. By using 2000 Nook Miles, players can unlock the Custom Design Pro Editor+ add-on from the Nook Stop Terminal.

This new feature brings 50 additional custom design slots to both the Normal and Pro modes. It also increases the number of items players can customize including flags, photo stands, umbrellas, and Uchiwa fans.

With an increased inventory and more customization options, players have come up with creative ideas to decorate their New Horizons island. Following the latest update, new custom designs focused on diagonal rugs are becoming a trend within the Animal Crossing community.

Innovating custom designs for diagonal rugs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The first such eye-catching custom design is a white and yellow diagonal rug. This pattern comes with four corner tiles and combining them creates a small square-shaped diagonal rug. The creator of this design also included some options for central tiles. Of course, the rugs can be customized in a bunch of different shapes and sizes using its various tiles.

By laying down the corner pieces and filling them with the central pieces, players can expand on the rug’s size. They can make it appear as big as they want. After that, arrange some furniture items on it and decorate the surrounding areas. Since most of the other designs are horizontal or vertical, these unique diagonal patterns will help enhance the visual appeal of the island.

Two more such diagonal patterns come in the form of a green floral rug and a check/lace rug. While these are only a handful of the custom designs available, consolecaito highlights some of her favorites and also shares their creator codes in the video.
