One of the developers of the highly anticipated Marvel Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation may have accidentally leaked the release date of the game. The Marvel Spider-Man games are one most successful franchises on PlayStation. So it wasn’t surprising that the community went crazy when this potential leak surfaced on the internet. 

So far there have been two installments in the franchise, which are Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Both of the games are massively popular and have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. PlayStation had hyped the community with the reveal of the sequel to the first game at a showcase event in 2021.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release date for PlayStation 5 leaked?

Ever since its announcement, there hasn’t been much information about the release date of the much-awaited sequel. The developer behind the franchise Insomniac Games had given no official statement regarding the release. But fans had some theories and speculations about the date and this latest leak may have given them some hope. 

One of the members of the Dev Team, Jamie Mayer, reportedly wrote on her personal website that the game supposedly will release during the Fall of 2023. This could mean that fans can expect a trailer for the game very soon because if the leak is true, then the game’s release may not be very far from now. 

But till now no official statement has been issued by Insomniac or Sony. So it can’t be said for sure how much legitimacy this date holds. But the community is optimistic about this leak because there has been another occurrence related to the game that also solidifies a nearing release date.

The official page of the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 went live for a while. Some of the fans were even able to add the game to their wishlist. But unfortunately, the store page didn’t feature any unique information about the game. However, it gave the loyal fans some hope that maybe the game’s release isn’t very far.

When it comes to more visual reveals, another leak by an industry insider teased that there would be a new trailer for the game on December 13, 2022. Unfortunately, it wasn’t true. That is why all of us should take these leaks with a grain of salt, as making video games is a long and unpredictable process. So without an official release date, it is impossible to speculate when will the game come out.
