However, it seems like some of the fans who purchased the physical disc would need some more patience to enjoy the game. So close yet so far? Well, a common disc install error being faced by the PlayStation community has fueled a wave of disappointment across the globe.

The highly-anticipated sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man is currently being enjoyed by the PlayStation 5 owners. In the last few hours, a major issue has come to light that has the fans talking about a common disc error that isn’t allowing the webheads to access Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. While the world is celebrating arguably the biggest superhero game in recent years, the disc owners are only furious as the solution to the issue remains a mystery.

According to the various claims by gamers on Reddit and ResetEra, the installation process is getting stuck at exactly 36% showing no progress further. Furthermore, in most cases, the error ends in the console window displaying ‘an error’ as the PS fails to read the disc. It is important to note that by the time of writing, there hasn’t been any complaint made for the digital edition yet. The issue only seems to persist for the disc owners.

What’s more frustrating is the fact that the users have tried every hack and trick to tackle the issue but Sony’s virtual spidey-verse still seems far.

Sony to address the issue by the weekend?

From installing the game offline, installing the disc and day one update independently, deleting and reinstalling, emptying the system cache, and rebuilding the database, there’s nothing the users haven’t tried. Some players have even attempted to install the game on an alternate system, and one unfortunate gamer switched out his disc just to discover that the second one he tried to play had the exact same issue.

Amidst all the fan callouts and backlash, a rumor hinting at an official upcoming solution has surfaced on the web. If the rumor is to be trusted, Sony is aware of the disc error and might be bringing a patch resolution by the weekend. It is important to note that there hasn’t been any official address made around the bug.

It goes without saying that having hands-on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and not being able to access it is as painful as it can get. But with ‘great powers comes great responsibilities’. So, to all the fans facing the issue, hold on to your patience and hopefully, Sony will be bringing a solution soon.
