Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has a heartwarming in-game tribute for one of the core artists of Insomniac Games. While gaming fans currently enjoy the worldwide release of the long-awaited sequel, a wonderful gesture by the developers has left the fans overwhelmed. One of the most celebrated minds in the game-developing business who met an untimely death makes an appearance in the new PS 5 exclusive and we are grateful.

For those unaware, Craig Goodman was a technical artist for Insomniac Games who unfortunately passed away in 2019 due to complications with brain cancer. He made significant contributions to the legacy of Insomniac Games and a tribute from the company goes to show how much he is missed.
The artist was also a part of the 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man developing team, making the tribute in the sequel more heartwarming. So, if you’re currently saving the city by swinging across the skyscrapers of New York, we would suggest you visit the memorial at Central Park and pay your homage.
The Legacy of Craig Goodman

Over 15 years, Goodman served the gaming community through his strong contributions to creations like Ratchet & Clank, Song of the Deep, Marvel’s Spider-Man and more. His enthusiasm and spirit towards gaming is reflected in his works.
Besides being a genius at his skills, Goodman was a great teammate. “What I remember the most was how he spread joy daily with his infectious smile and unflaggingly positive attitude. The world could be crashing down, but Craig unfailingly focused on what was good and helped others see it too. Moreover, he was incredibly selfless, always putting everyone else first even when he was in the last stages of battling cancer. Craig truly embodied Insomniac’s vision: to have a lasting and positive influence on others,” said Ted Price, the founder of Insomniac Games.

The inclusion of Goodman in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 just adds to the list of factors that make this game much more than just entertainment. Undoubtedly, the legacy of Craig Goodman won’t be forgotten as we’ll keep on celebrating his works.
