In a recent interview, Ben Arfmann the narrative director of Insomniac Games, and Brittney Morris, an advanced writer of the company gave interesting insights on the follow-up story after Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Both of the creators highlighted how the narrative unfolded in the latest installment in reference to the character arcs of both Miles Morales and Peter Parker. Moreover, they addressed the fact that the evolution of Miles Morales as a character has a lot to do with the future of Sony’s Marvel world.

“It always felt very natural, and I think we all collectively thought it would happen. To me, it shows a great deal of evolution from Miles; at the beginning of the game, we see him struggling to figure out what he wants to do with his life. By the end, we had Miles carrying the burden of saving the city, and also carrying Pete when Pete wasn’t strong enough to carry himself at various points”, Morris stated while responding to the query about Miles Morales’ significance in the world.

While Peter Parker hesitantly tries to express his desire to Miles Morales to take some time off from the hero duties, Morales breaks the ice with, “I got this. All of it. Go be Peter Parker for a while.”

Now, fan theories claim this might be a symbolic representation of Peter Parker passing the baton on to Miles Morales to be the city’s savior for a while. Meanwhile, Peter Parker would focus on his personal life. Fans can expect Morales to catch on to some more action in the coming years. So, a sequel to the spin-off seems only rational with the ending in reference.
