When PlayStation revealed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at the PlayStation Showcase 2023, it caused a massive uproar in the gaming community. Many fans loved the return of the crowd-favorite web-slinger and his new partner Miles. However, Peter Parker made his appearance wearing a Venom suit. And his gameplay style also changed drastically. From the nimble and evasive action in the first part, Parker was more into slamming his opponent in the sequel.

This dark suit also forebodes the arrival of the classic nemesis of Parker, Venom. While Kraven the Hunter is going to be one of the bad guys, much information about Venom is still unknown. However, The Game Awards 10-Year concert has dropped massive Easter eggs about Venom.

Spider-Man 2 features a close friend of Parker becoming Venom

Recently, Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards hosted a concert for the ten-year anniversary of the awards. In this concert, multiple studios showcased their orchestral selections from their classic games like League of Legends, Diablo, and many more. However, fans were not ready for the Easter egg at the title track debut of Spider-Man 2. At the start of the song, the projection screen presented a short animated clip, possibly present in the sequel. The clip features Norman Osborn in a stressed emotion.

Osborn walks into a hidden laboratory containing a stasis chamber enclosing a person. A notable fact is that there is a person covered with Venom symbiote in that chamber. However, multiple fans have come to the conclusion that it is Harry Osborn, making him the first host of Venom in the Spider-Man game series.

Another notable fact is that when Norman Osborn places his hand on the tank in despair, he does not notice that the substance has reacted to his movement. This could be the foreboding of Venom’s escape from containment too. However, this Easter egg dropped at the Game Awards concert has surprised the fans, to say the least.

This revelation will further complicate the storyline as Parker would have to save his best friend from the symbiote while also hiding his secret identity. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 comes out exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023.
