The Switch was released in 2017 and is gradually showing its age when running high-demand titles like Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, fans will be delighted as a leaker may have some potential news about a new Switch console that could be unveiled soon. The much-anticipated Switch 2 will come with multiple features, much to the joy of the fans. While it’s still not confirmed what the new device will be called, there’s a strong possibility of being dubbed Super Nintendo Play.

Korean leaker claims Switch 2 is currently known by the pseudonym ‘Super Nintendo Play’, uses game cards like original Switch, has Super Famicom/PAL SNES ‘button structure’ (most likely referencing colour scheme), and will be a hybrid indoor/outdoor console, but will not have a Switch-like dock

According to a Korean leaker, the new Switch console will have game card slots like the OG console. The upcoming console is also expected to have a vibrantly colored button structure like the iconic Super Famicom console. The console will also be a hybrid one, which means users can play their favorite titles on it both indoors as well as outdoors. Game-changer, we’d say. However, the console may not be up for docking features like its predecessor. While this may be a drawback for some, most Nintendo fans will just be delighted to have something new to look forward to.

Nintendo made a name for the Switch

Nintendo has put out some of the most coveted franchises in the gaming industry and is hailed as a true pioneer. Along with its long list of iconic games, Nintendo is also among the biggest names in the raging Console Wars. Its Switch console also comes with a slew of exclusive titles that Nintendo fans can enjoy.

Games like Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight, The Touryst, and Yoku’s Island Express put a spell over fans with their enticing gameplay and stories. However, while these games don’t require much to provide a seamless experience, more demanding games can make the Switch suffer hiccups. With that in mind, any updates on a new gaming device from Nintendo will be welcome news to the fans.
