The McLaren driver Lando Norris isn’t having the best week on the Formula One circuit this week. He grazed the walls at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit during the Q1 session, damaging his steering and he couldn’t continue the qualifying session. Because of this, he would have to start the race on March 19 from the back of the grid, which is not an ideal spot for starting a race.

Although a podium for Norris is highly unlikely, his fans got to witness him celebrate another race win this week. Instead of winning an F1 race, he won a Mario Kart race. However, it was not a normal Mario Kart race on a Nintendo Switch console, as it took place in the real world.

In this Mario Kart race, there were eight teams of two drivers dressed as the game’s characters. Lando teamed up with English YouTuber William “WillNE” Jonathan Lenney. Further, they were dressed as Mario Kart’s titular character Mario. Also, only one driver from each team could start, but they could pit stop to change the drivers.

For Lando’s team, WillNE started the race but was far from the fight at the front. But the tables turned when most YouTubers pitted to change drivers. WillNE stayed on the track to take a huge lead of one lap.

He then switched with Lando Norris, who got into some action with other YouTubers. However, the other teams were one lap behind Team Mario and were fighting for second and third place.

The 23-year-old won the real-world Mario Kart with ease. He even celebrated on the podium with WillNE. Although Lando might only get to celebrate on the podium this week once, he did it in a fun way that had a lot of entertaining content in it.
