Microsoft President Brad Smith once again reconfirmed that all the PlayStation fans of Call of Duty should not be worried at all about its future. The series will continue to remain on the platform and won’t become Xbox exclusive. In addition to that, it’s going to spread out more, on newer consoles in the coming future.

Mr. Smith recently had an interview with a reporter from CNBC. In that, he answered the most crucial questions revolving around Activision, and especially Call of Duty.

There’s no doubt that Microsoft has gained most of the limelight ever since it announced the merger of Xbox with Activision, courtesy the reveal of an acquisition. Being worth $68.7 billion, it will likely bring a massive impact in the industry regarding various aspects. Not to mention the Call of Duty franchise, that has been under Activision so far.

Most of the gamers, after the news became official, were concerned for the iconic FPS shooter saga. Because they had a valid reason for their concern. Call of Duty has gained huge popularity throughout the years across different platforms, but PlayStation has been key to its success.

So it was obvious when the players raised doubts over the fate of the franchise. But now, Microsoft has reiterated that CoD will remain available on the PlayStation even in the distant future.

Talking to CNBC, President Brad Smith not only gave confirmation on this matter, but he also teased the arrival of the Call of Duty games on the Nintendo consoles. In fact, he clearly stated that Microsoft would like to bring the series to Nintendo Switch.

“As we move ahead with the regulatory assessment of this transaction, one of the things we’re being very clear about is that excellent titles like Call of Duty from Activision Blizzard today will continue to be available on the Sony PlayStation,” he said.

Continuing further he added: “We’d like to introduce it to Nintendo devices.”
