The 2022 YouTube Streamy Awards honor all the Content Creators from various platforms. And the prestigious ‘Creator for Social Good’ Award was won by the joint effort of MrBeast and Mark Rober for their venture to clean the planet’s oceans with #TeamSeas movement. 

This year’s nominations for the Social Award featured many great efforts by content creators. The nominations for ‘Creator for Social Good’ were:-

• Ryan Trahan • Feeding America
• The Game Theorists • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 

All of these creators did fantastic jobs to create waves in the social sectors, raising millions of dollars for charities, and contributing to movements trying to bring a change. 

MrBeast and Mark Rober win the ‘Creator for Social Good Award’ at Streamy Awards for #Teamseas

Back in 2019, MrBeast and Mark Rober came together to make a venture to clean garbage from the seas of the planet. They named their project, #TeamSeas. Initially, the plan for the venture was to start a fundraiser to make $20 million for the cause. These funds were donated to Ocean Conservancy and Ocean Cleanup.

Winners Of YouTube Streamy Awards 2022 Revealed Several Surprises

The fundraiser had pledged that for every dollar donated, they will remove one pound of marine debris from the Ocean Floors. By December 2022, this fundraiser has raised way over the initial target. Currently, it has gained more than 33 million dollars, which means the team has removed 33 million pounds of garbage and debris from the oceans.

This innovative and revolutionary venture by the influencers was honored at the Streamy Awards 2022. MrBeast and Mark Robber won the ‘Content Creator for Social Good’ Award. This award was presented by The Elevate Prize Foundation, which awarded the duo $50,000. And again, this amount will be donated to any worthy cause of the winner’s choosing.

MrBeast’s notable Philanthropic works  

In his career, MrBeast has been involved in many philanthropic works to make a change in the world. In October 2019, MrBeast and Mark Rober have also ventured into another project named Team Trees. Just like Team Seas, this venture is also a fundraiser to plant trees around the world. This fundraiser had promised that for every dollar donated, they will plant a tree. At the time of writing, this movement has raised more than 24 million dollars for the cause. 

Even the famous American podcaster Joe Rogan once said about MrBeast, “Well, he’s got this philanthropy arm of his business and he gives free meals to people. He’s given 1,459,098 pounds of food, 1,215,915 meals delivered, a 111,929 individuals fed, and he does this all out of philanthropy. He’s just a good guy.”
