The PlayStation Showcase event is among the first showcase events to take place this summer. These events are a big part of the gaming community. These events reveal new titles for consoles. Keeping the expectation bar up to the mark, the 2023 PlayStation Showcase has revealed a multitude of new games that included exclusives for PlayStation consoles.

Unluckily, if you missed watching the PlayStation Showcase 2023, we’ve got you covered. Here are some of the top titles that stole the spotlight during the 2023 PlayStation Showcase!

1. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2 is the much-awaited sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man developed by Insomniac Games, coming out in the Fall of 2023. The game features both Peter Parker as well as fan favorite Miles Morales. In a surprise reveal, the game features Peter in the Venom suit, swinging after Dr. Kurt Connors as the Lizard. Meanwhile, Kraven the Hunter gives chase! PlayStation revealed the trailer and gameplay at the end of the event. Looks like they saved the best for last!

2. Assassin’s Creed Mirage

The event revealed Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the fifteenth installment in the game. It goes back to the roots of the franchise, moving away from the RPG route the last three games had taken. The game will be released on October 12th this year.

3. Ghostrunner II

Ghostrunner was a surprise hit from 2020. The game looks like a cross between cyberpunk and ninja themes coming together to give a more challenging game with better combat and platforming sections.

4. Bungie’s Marathon Revival

Bungie, now under the ownership of Sony, brought back fan favorite Marathon. The game features mechanics and gameplay similar to the Destiny franchise. Marathon will run parallel to the Destiny franchise, in fact!

5. Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake

In a new twist, PlayStation reveals that Konami is giving Solid Snake another go in a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. Fans of the original series can now take control of Solid Snake as he sneaks around Soviet Russia in updated graphics. Additionally, Konami will also release an HD version of the first two Metal Gear Solid games as well.

6. Phantom Blade 0

The PlayStation-exclusive Phantom Blade 0 is set in a ninja-punk setting. The game was reminiscent of other exclusives such as The Ghost of Tsushima and Bloodborne brought together. It features fast-paced sword combat and a teaser to a mysterious plotline! The player takes control of Dark Raider. The game looks to be a delicious blend of ninjas and steampunk. Sadly, developers have not provided a release date for the game, meaning gamers will just have to wait for more information to come.

7. Final Fantasy XVI

The return to the world of Final Fantasy approaches as the 16th installment is set to release on 22nd June. The showcase released a trailer for the game with stunning visuals from the world of Final Fantasy XVI.

8. Street Fighter 6

The fighting game Street Fighter made an appearance as fans were shown an improved side of the game franchise. Street Fighter 6 will feature a story mode with new characters being introduced in addition to existing ones.

9. Alan Wake 2

The horror sequel will see Alan trapped in the Dark Place, alongside Saga Anderson, a new playable character in the game. The sequel is going to release on October 17 later this year.

10. Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the sequel of the original Dragon’s Dogma, an RPG originally released in 2012. Fans of the game have waited for over a decade for a return to the series as the sequel’s trailer hinted at combat with monsters and dragons in its world.

11. Fairgame$

The event began with the reveal of Fairgame$, a game that is a competitive heisting experience. The players rob the ultra-rich while making use of advanced machinery, giving the game a science-fiction twist.

12. Talos Principle 2

The first Talos Principle game was appreciated by gamers for its difficult puzzles and the philosophical themes that were depicted in the game. The sequel, originally announced back in 2021, will build on its predecessor.

13. Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 is the much-awaited sequel to the 2015 game. The co-op shooter allows players to operate in different environments while maintaining its satirical aspect as seen in the reveal trailer. The game comes out later this year.

14. Sword of the Sea

Fans of Abzu and Journey rejoiced as developers Giant Squid announce Sword of the Sea. In an abandoned world, the player traverses the environment on a Hoversword, functioning similarly to a hoverboard and a skateboard. Additionally, as fans of the developer may know, the game featured stunning visuals for fans to enjoy!

15. Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean

Fans of the original Cat Quest game celebrate as Pirates of the Purribean was officially announced at PlayStation Showcase. The game builds on the original and takes the cats on a search for a mythical artifact.

16. Towers of Aghasba

Towers of Aghasba is a game quite similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game features bright settings as the player travels the environment with a paraglider. Players are given the chance to interact with different animals and beasts, meaning a special focus on nature within the game.

17. Concord

Similar to Destiny, Concord is an online shooter that dwells in the science-fiction genre. This is Firewalk Studios’ first AAA title. They are targeting a 2024 release for the game.

18. Granblue Fantasy Relink

Originally announced back in 2016, Granblue Fantasy Relink gets its release date to be this year. The RPG is a hack-and-slash game similar to Genshin Impact.

19. Immortals of Aveum

PlayStation Showcase 2023 brought the gameplay for Immortals of Aveum. EA is developing the title. It is a first-person magical shooter. The game will release on July 20.

20. Revenant Hill

The game follows the story of a cat trying to make ends meet and live a quiet life but is forced to deal with a mysterious force at large. While a lot is not known about the game, the teaser showed the cat side-scrolling through beautiful landscapes on its journey. Seems like Stray has found another friend.

21. Ultros

Among side-scrolling games, Ultros is one that stands out among those presented today. The game has eccentric colors and patterns in the background as the player shoots their way through the game. The game will be coming out next year.

22. Neva

The astoundingly gorgeous Neva was announced today. Set in a colorful world, the story takes on a journey between a woman and her relationship with a young wolf cub. The colors and the setting are reminiscent of PlayStation 2 title Okami.

Sadly for fans, there was no sign of the highly anticipated GTA VI. It looks like the wait for the sixteenth installment in the Grand Theft Auto series continues for a little longer.
