Mortal Kombat 11 breaks franchise sales records!

According to the LinkedIn profile of a former Global Brand Manager at Warner Bros. Entertainment, Matt Welsh, as of Feb 2022, Mortal Kombat 11 has managed to make profits of over $500 million, making it the most profitable entry in the franchise.

Mortal Kombat 11 had many aspects that played a part in its success. The constant flow of additional content and collaborations was one of the most vital among these. Matt shared that the collaboration with big IPs like RoboCop and A-listers, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone alone had pushed the numbers to insane heights.

The figure of $500 million was recorded as of February 2022. This makes it obvious that the numbers may have changed a lot since more than a year has passed. While the net profit maybe $500 million, it isn’t clear how much the gross sales amount was for MK 11. This profit amount includes not only game sales but also, “all first-party relations, integrated programs and merchandising with Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Steam, Google and Discord.”
