EA has made an official announcement about a new Star Wars title!

EA announced the release of Star Wars: Survivor in 2023. They made the announcement during a Star Wars celebration with a teaser for their upcoming game. The moment which steals the show is the return of Cal Kestis and droid BD-1. Star Wars’ die-hard fans already know about these two, but for the ones who don’t, Cal Kestis and droid BD-1 are the main characters from the first-ever Star Wars game.

The new title drops as a sequel to the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as Cal finds himself ahead of the Empire’s pursuit. This is because he feels the weight of being the last Jedi. Respawn and EA have claimed that Survivor will broaden the series’ dynamic combat as they have tried new ways during the game’s development.

Moving on, let’s see how the fans reacted to this.

Stig Asmussen opens up about the upcoming title

In a recent interview, Respawn director, Stig Asmussen, shared his insight about Star Wars: Survivor. He said, “For Jedi: Survivor, we are working in lockstep with Lucasfilm Games to build on the legacy of Jedi: Fallen Order. We’re leveraging advanced technology to create more dynamic Jedi combat and cinematic storytelling to expand on Cal’s story as he matures and survives during the dark times. We can’t wait to share more about the game with the world later this year.”

When asked about the title, Stig focused on the word Survivor, saying that they had crafted it based on the genre. He further spoke about it, saying that Cal and the crew were stuck in a dark time, trying to do everything in their power to survive. So, giving the game another title would be off.

The Star Wars: Survivor will release in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S What are your thoughts about it? Are you excited? Let us know in the comments section.
