Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, is a well-known philanthropist besides a successful YouTuber. The 24-year-old has spent millions from his pockets to help people in need. He even has an alternate YouTube channel, MrBeast Philanthropy, which is dedicated to charity. Donaldson doesn’t take a penny from this channel; everything goes to help those in need.

Further, MrBeast also came up with the campaigns like #TeamTrees and #TeamSeas. He started these campaigns to improve the environment. Donaldson started the #TeamTree campaign to plant 20 million trees. As of July 2022, MrBeast has succeeded in planting 19 million.

MrBeast was not always a philanthropist

The YouTube megastar has made a name for himself as a philanthropist. However, Jimmy Donaldson’s mother, Sue, revealed to Rolling Stone that her son didn’t always have this giving nature as a kid. The YouTuber’s mother claimed he never took part in community services or volunteer activities when he was a kid.

But MrBeast Philanthropy’s CEO, Darren Margolias, shared that donating money from his early brand deals ignited his passion for charity in Jimmy. Margolias also revealed that the 24-year-old wants to send his audience a great message about charity. He said, “But when people realize helping is enjoyable and beautiful, that will change the way they think about giving.”

Further, Darren also stated that the philanthropy acts the audience sees in his videos are just the tip of the whole iceberg. Jimmy does most of his charitable work behind the camera. MrBeast spent his vast fortune celebrating holidays with children who lost families to natural catastrophes or looking after people who lost their jobs during the global pandemic.

The 24-year-old claimed he didn’t have any evidence to prove his off-screen personality. However, he doesn’t want to prove it as he doesn’t do charity to let people know or promote himself. Undoubtedly, the Carolina-born content creator has significantly grown from a kid not interested in any volunteer activities.
