The YouTube top dog, Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast, also ponders on the fact that he too is a mortal. While at present he is able to make content and help people with his philanthropic ventures, there will be a time when all of this will become a distant memory and MrBeast will only exist in the pages of history. 

Concerning his mortality, Jimmy has his own plans to fight it. Although Jimmy had expressed that he doesn’t care about the inevitable, there is a part of him who wants to keep the flame alive, who wants MrBeast to go on, even if Jimmy is no more. With the revolutionary tech that is the ChatGPT AI, Jimmy hopes he may finally make these plans a reality. 

MrBeast wants to be alive for 200 years

In popular sci-fi novels and movies, the concept of characters using technology to preserve their presence is nothing new. Even in the recently released mega-blockbuster, Avatar 2, we could see the characters cheating death using neural preservation. However, the real world is far away from such technological advancements.

In the Lex Fridman podcast episode featuring Jimmy, Lex asked, “Immortality could be achieved in the digital realm. It could be, long after you are gone, there is a MrBeast run by a ChatGPT-type system.” on this Jimmy replies, “exactly, it consumes, everything I ever said, Everything I ever wrote… I want that, I wanna live”. 

“Why don’t one of you smart people figure it out? I will keep you entertained, but I need you to figure out, how to keep me alive. Gimme till 200, that will make be happy.” said Jimmy looking directly at the camera. However, Lex pointed out that even if science makes it possible, Jimmy’s psyche would be inside an artificial body.

Who will own it when he is gone? What are the legalities of something like this? Jimmy replied that he doesn’t care who owns his artificial body when he is dead. He stated that as long as it does its job, he will be fine.

Although he also stressed on a key point. MrBeast reiterated that if a machine keeps spamming his content, without any heart and emotion behind it will lose all its meaning. “The second that thing starts spamming out videos, the videos lose all meaning, and it’s pointless, and it’s a money grab,” said Jimmy on an endnote to the conversation.
