Twitch posted how it understood these terms of service were bad for its viewers as well as the streamers. Yet, the question Thea, as well as other Twitch streamers were left asking, is if the streaming platform understood this, why would they release these terms of service? Thea called out the platform over these terms of service in her tweet.

Twitch forced to change terms of service

Following the initial release of these terms of service, there was outrage among fans. The broad wording of these guidelines left much room for exploitation. It forced the streaming platform to rework these terms of service and release them all over again.

Moreover, some people argued over the dual nature of these guidelines. On one hand, endorsements of alcohol remain permitted, even if in a restricted manner. However, on the other hand, political endorsements of any kind were prohibited. The term political content was used broadly to include public debates as well.
