Thea Booysen is critical of the loss of empathy due to the usage of AI

A trending tweet sparked this debate even further when it suggested the replacement of a therapist with an AI tool. User @danmurrayserter shared his views on how expensive therapy is getting, with him revealing it costs him $200 per hour. To help people out from spending this much, he took help from an AI tool. He detailed step-by-step how one can configure the tool to make it act as their therapist. While some people showed support for this tweet, many were critical of this. One of the critics was MrBeast’s girlfriend Thea Booysen.

Thea Booysen, coming from a background in psychology, asked a very vital question about AI usage in therapy. She raised concerns over whether AI will be able to empathize with the patient like a therapist.

The usage of AI in the medical world is still a sensitive subject. While AI is a great tool to carry out repetitive tasks, it still lacks in carrying out tasks that require a humane touch. Maybe in the future AI will be able to better help with therapy.
