Directed by Jeff Flower, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 stars Ben Schwartz, who returns as the voice actor for the furry blue speedster. James Marsden, Natasha Rothwell, Tika Sumpter, Adam Pally, Idris Elba, and Jim Carrey are also in crucial roles.

Now speaking of its box office run so far, then Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has outperformed literally all the previous video game films from the past. According to the latest figures revealed by popular website Box Office Mojo, the movie has now earned an estimated $161.9 million domestically, as of this writing. Well, that collection makes it the highest grossing big screen gaming adaptation in the US history.

And of course it goes without saying that the film has also surpassed its predecessor as well.

Furthermore, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has also earned well globally as its total now stands at an estimated $323.5 million as of this writing, reported by Epicstream.

Probably the only challenge remaining for the furry blue speedster is now the 2016’s WarCraft. That film is still a number one video game adaptation worldwide, currently having an estimated collection of $439 million.
