2K Games is all set to launch its new sports simulation title, NBA 2K24, in September 2023. The game will once again be a showcase of the visual fidelity that developer Visual Concept keeps pushing year after year. Of course, the revelation of this game has yet again started a season of hype amongst its fans.

But this time around, fans of the NBA2K series and basketball will be experiencing something really special. Publisher 2K and the game developers have announced a heartfelt tribute to an NBA Legend in the upcoming installment of this long-running franchise!

These games have a very large fanbase, which makes sense given that the NBA has a huge following in the USA. That means fans of this series would be familiar with Kobe Bryant too, the legendary pro player who passed away in 2020.

Kobe was traveling in a 1991 Sikorsky S-76B helicopter, going from John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, California, towards a basketball game at his Mamba Sports Academy when his accident occurred. He has left a huge fanbase remembering him and building murals in his remembrance.

And now, those fans will once again be able to pay this legend tribute through this game. Besides starring in this game as a playable character, he will also be present in its box art. The box art itself seems to be very tastefully designed and captures his gracefulness in all its glory.

It is indeed very good to see the champion back in form. Even if it’s only on the cover of NBA 2K24. For NBA fans excited to get their hands on this upcoming game, the launch date is not very far away. It will be making its way to pretty much all platforms in September 2023. This would also be the first game in the series to feature cross-play amongst different platforms.

The publisher has not revealed any more information on this game as of yet. Fans can look forward to getting information regarding the various editions that this game will be available in and the bonus content that each will accompany.
