Currently developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts, Need for Speed games mainly focuses on illegal street races, where players have to complete various tasks, and win races while getting pursued by law enforcement.  

The latest installment in the franchise, Need for Speed Unbound, was promised to take the series to whole new heights. The last few games weren’t able to meet up with the expectation of the fans, but Unbound so far has been successful in giving a great experience and racking up great reviews. Map: The map of Need for Speed Unbound is by far the biggest selling point of the game. It may not be gigantic but it’s still big enough to give the players all the room they want. And one thing that the over-world of the game has done beautifully is, is the terrain design. It’s simple yet charming. 

The Cop Chases: Almost after every race, the cops will chase the player. Which at first seems very thrilling and fun, but gets really stale after a while as the cops follow a repeated route and are very predictable. 

Racing: Arguably one of the most important aspects of a racing game. The racing feels very fresh in Unbound as the newly updated visuals and responsive controls make it very fun and attractive. But the unnecessary checkpoint system and the inability to leave the pre-determined track and take a creative approach could make some fans frustrated. 

Customization options: The customization options in the game in much deeper than any of the previous titles. Incorporating stolen parts or buying brand-new paint jobs or other decorative options can completely change the look of a car. 

In the end, we can come to the conclusion that NFS Unbound comes very close to a flawless game. It performs very well in many important aspects but also has some irritating aspects. But what is a game without minor flaws? So if you are looking for a good racing game by the end of this year, then NFS Unbound is undoubtedly the best option you have.
