They claimed the franchises shaking hands to release a Joel and Ellie-inspired skin in the game. But now, a recent tweet has surfaced on the internet, where they confirmed no such thing. The tweet came in right after Naughty Dog’s President put out a post mentioning it.

Fortnite Informant apologizes to the community over misleading collab news

On July 24, 2022, Epic Games partner Shiiina posted a tweet about a Fortnite x The Last Of Us collab happening soon. She even mentioned that fans will be able to drop into battle with Joel and Ellie in September.

However, the news has turned fake as Naughty Dog President has denied it. Hours after Shiiina’s first tweet, Neil Druckmann posted a tweet talking about this. He said, “Love me some Fortnite… but there are no plans for this. False rumor.” Apart from this, Neil also added Shiiina’s post in the caption, which seems to be deleted by now.

But that does not mean the Fortnite informant discarded the issue entirely. In fact, they uploaded a detailed letter explaining the reason behind putting the tweet. Shiiina started the letter by apologizing to the community, as they had no intention to mislead fans. After that, they listed each of the reasons behind this statement while mentioning its source.

Towards the end of the letter, Shiiina once again apologized to their fans and asked for forgiveness.

Apart from going through this mental turmoil, the Epic Games partner put out a tweet talking about their journey. They mentioned the time when they started to post Fortnite leaks and went on to thank fans for their support.

Here’s what they said, “On this day 4 years ago, I started posting Fortnite leaks and haven’t stopped since. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the past few years. This experience has been truly life-changing, and I’m not planning to stop anytime soon. Thank you.”
