So, fans’ disbelief is well-placed when they say that Netflix is likely to mess this up as well.

Moist Charlie, a popular YouTuber declared that he didn’t feel strongly about the project. “They haven’t had a hit yet“, Charlie reminded his followers.

The cynicism is understandable, looking at the examples till now. From Death Note to Roruni Kenshin, none of the live adaptation series left a lasting mark on the viewers. However, with the scale and budget of the pirate adventure, it looks like Netflix is finally giving an adaptation its due.
