Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of 2022. With a release date slated for October, the upcoming COD installment has caused extreme hype up among the fans.

To further fuel the fans’ anticipation, data miners have been constantly giving out intriguing bits and pieces from the game. Now, fans ran into another leak that hints at an Infected Mode in the upcoming game.

For the unaware, an Infected Mode in Call of Duty is where players (survivors) can team up against zombies. The catch for a survivor is to stay away from zombies. If a zombie infects a survivor, the survivor will join the team of zombies against the remaining survivors.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is all set to launch on October 28, with a Warzone 2.0 coming later. According to another leak, Activision will be commencing the open beta in September. Fans can now pre-order the game for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II may feature an infection mode

The franchise introduced Infected Mode for the first time in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, and continued to show up in other COD titles like Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3, Modern Warfare I, Black Ops Cold War, and more.

Infected is undoubtedly a fun-to-play but eerie mode that fans would love welcoming in the upcoming addition to the franchise.

According to a leak from a popular Call of Duty data miner, Reality, Modern Warfare II will get a bunch of fan-favorite modes, including the Infected Mode. Upon mining the game files, Reality found an icon that resembles the classic Infected Mode as seen on Modern Warfare I and in previous titles.

Not only the Infected Mode, but Reality named several modes, available in the upcoming game, according to the data. The modes were namely, Capture The Flag, Gunfight, Bounty, Kill Confirmed, Cranked, and more.

Previously, Reality had also posted a bunch of other images for equipment that will be available in Modern Warfare II. However, those suffered a copyright claim and were taken down, which only further points at the leaks being valid.

This is not the first time that details from Modern Warfare II leaked online. Previously, notable leakers gave out a bunch of images that show off the maps from the game. Modern Warfare II is becoming one of Activision’s worst kept secrets!
