Mortal Kombat 1 will release this September and fans are already exclaiming how great the gameplay looks. A new trailer has dropped yet again and fans are stoked some more. The Banished Trailer also showcased new characters joining the already extensive roster. With this, fans wait eagerly to find out more about the new faces and their skills.

Along with new fighters, a Kameo character has also been unveiled in the new trailer. Weeks after the Umgadi trailer drop, NetherRealm Studios is looking to make some more ripples with the latest trailer.

3 new fighters and a Kameo in the new Mortal Kombat trailer

While the Umgadi trailer from last month progressed on the lore and narrative of Mortal Kombat 1, fans were elated to witness new characters and factions. Following that, the Keepers of Time trailer also turned some heads as it showed multiple familiar faces returning to the game. Geras’ return is highly anticipated by the community. And now, more revelations confront fans with the new trailer drop by Warner Bros.

Along with the Banished trailer, the Twitter handle of Mortal Kombat 1 also announced the new characters joining its roster, in case fans couldn’t make out the names from the trailer video. According to the tweet, Reptile, Ashrah, and Havik will be the three new fighters who will assist players in subjugating their opponents. Sareena will most likely be a Kameo face who will be lending a helping hand every now and then.

Breaking down the trailer

The new trailer begins with Syzoth (Reptile) making an entry. While talking to some NPCs, Syzoth reveals his true form. It’s also disclosed that Reptile’s community looks at him as a freak for his shape-shifting abilities. He may have also been persecuted by his own people, it’s hinted. Then we see Ashrah, a demon who has taken a long journey to purge evil from her soul. She too was subjected to torment because of her change of heart.

Ashrah is quickly confronted by Havik who is looking to destroy lives to save many others. Ashrah denies to allow him to do so and the two engage in a battle for survival. During this battle, we briefly witness Sareena making an appearance as she lends Havik a hand to beat Ashrah. Syzoth also has a confrontation with Mileena. All three new inductees have shown off some insane skills and fans can’t wait to experience their battles across the Outworld.
