EA finally listened to a big request made by the fans of John Madden, the great legend and American football coach who passed away last year. It seems like the publisher will pay its own tribute in many ways to the memorable commentator in football history.

Just recently, EA revealed the official cover for the next major entry in its long-running video game franchise. On Twitter, the publisher unveiled none other than John Madden himself on the front cover of the upcoming installment, Madden NFL 23.

John Madden passed away towards the end of 2021 in December. In his early years, he served as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders from 1969 to 1978, leading them to eight appearances in the playoffs. Apart from this, he also led them to seven division titles as well as their first Super Bowl victory in the 11th season.

He also lent his name and voice, as a commentator, in EA‘s now-iconic Madden NFL series, since its inception in 1988. So it was obvious for the publisher to pay a grand homage to the legend in its next main entry.

Following the unfortunate demise of John Madden, most of his fans wanted him to be on the cover of Madden NFL 23. And the publisher did exactly that while fulfilling their wish.

John Madden is now officially on the cover of Madden NFL 23 game. The reveal trailer for the same is set to premiere on Thursday. It’s expected to offer a lot of features like ‘Fieldsense’ in the upcoming new offering.

Meanwhile, the majority of the fans on Twitter welcomed the big step by EA. Most of them couldn’t control their emotions seeing John Madden on the cover of Madden NFL 23.

One user right wrote this to pay their tribute to the legend while also thanking the publisher: “You’ll did the right thing”.

There’s not much detail available right now on the new entry in the iconic sports franchise. However, it seems like Thursday’s trailer reveal will surely offer crucial information about what to expect from this game.
