The latest ad claims Master Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has gone corrupt!
Hyrule was in ruins in Breath of the Wild. Link wakes up after a very long time and goes on a journey to fix this. He defeats every enemy he comes across and he kills every monster threatening the people of Hyrule.

But for the biggest of threats, he is told he would need the Master Sword. Yes, the sword that would help him defeat Ganon and the strongest of foes in that game. Eventually, he finds the sword and defeats Ganon using it.

The last we saw Link still had that sword, whatever transpired between then and Tears of the Kingdom, it could not have been pleasant. It appears that things have taken a turn for the worse and Ganon is once again back to his shenanigans.

And the worse of it has been revealed by a recent Famitsu ad. The ad which is translated from Japanese by a Twitter user says “The master sword, corrupted”. This ad represents every master sword Link has held in previous games and it compares those with its latest iteration, a shortened corrupted Master Sword.
This can mean one of several things, the biggest of which is that maybe, this time around, Link would have to go through several missions to restore this sword to its original self.
It might also mean that this new iteration of Master Sword would carry some unspoken powers and would be harder to get than it previously was. As fans might remember, the last time players got this sword was in those mysterious forests. Maybe this time its location would be harder to penetrate?
