The Japanese giants Nintendo added four doses of classic nostalgia to their Switch Online subscription, while fans were immersed in playing the newly released titles like Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and Bayonetta 3.

Nintendo came up with the subscription in 2018, and it offered features like online multiplayer, cloud saving, and voice calling via a smartphone. But that’s not the end of it, as this subscription offers access to classic Nintendo titles from consoles like NES and SNES.

But Nintendo kept improving this online subscription. Last year, they released an expansion pack to this subscription that allowed players to enjoy Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games. Once again, they added four Sega Genesis titles for the expansion pack ahead of the holidays.

What are the four Sega Genesis games added to Nintendo Switch Online?

You might be wondering what are the four classic titles that joined the Switch Online library. Those games are Golden Axe II, Alien Storm, Columns, and Virtua Fighter 2. All the Nintendo fans in the 1990s grew up playing these titles. Undoubtedly, these four additions will give fans a great dose of nostalgia.

Alien Storm and Columns were released in 1990 for the classic Sega Genesis console. Both titles were major hits during those times and were appreciated by the fans for their gameplay. Alien Storm was a beat ’em-up shooter game, while Columns was a title-matching puzzle game.

Golden Axe II is a side-scrolling beat ’em-up game released in 1991. Meanwhile, Virtua Fighter 2 was released in 1996 for the fan-favorite Genesis console. The fans appreciated both titles for the fresh graphics and claimed that they both were a perfect sequel to their predecessors.
