Nintendo Console is capable of running Bitcoin software!

Bitcoin Magazine, the Twitter handle for all things related to crypto, has shared a Tweet recently showing the power of the Japanese handheld console. The Tweet shows the handheld console running a Bitcoin node.

For fans who do not know, a Bitcoin node is a computer that runs the Bitcoin software. Bitcoin nodes communicate with other nodes in the network to send and receive transactions and verify their authenticity.

Achieving this is a big feat for the handheld console. However, as many fans would have already guessed, the process would be a tedious one to run on the Switch. Maybe the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 might be able to run this a little better.

Rumored Nintendo Switch 2 specifications

Fans are still hoping Nintendo will officially announce the Nintendo Switch 2 during the Nintendo Live that will be held in Seattle coming September. While much news about the console is not out yet, Switch enthusiasts are looking up any new information they can find.

Now, rumors have started appearing that the upcoming Nintendo will contain the Nvidia Tegra chip. Korean gaming insider @OreXda has shared the Nvidia Tegra chip used in the Nintendo Switch 2 will have Samsung’s 5nm 5LPP architecture. This is a shocking reveal as previous rumors suggested Tegra chip would use Ampere architecture.

This architecture would definitely improve the performance of Switch 2 from its predecessor. But the Japanese handheld console would still be lacking behind consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in performance.
