Iconic NES Deluxe Set sales for a staggering price

At a recent auction, a vintage Nintendo NES Deluxe Set made a new record by being sold for a whopping $120,000. The original console was sold in December 1986 for a mere $128. The Nintendo NES had some of the most popular titles to ever grace the gaming community including Super Mario Bros. 2, Duck Hunt, Punch-Out!!!, and Mega Man. Understandably, the console resides atop a sort of mythical podium for those who have been a gamer for a long time.

The console in question came with two boxed NES titles (Gyromite and Duck Hunt), as well as two controllers. A Zapper light gun to make those duck hunting seasons more competitive was also included in the set. The Robotic Operating Buddy (R.O.B) was one of the most iconic controllers to be ever released, albeit being used for only a couple of games. This landmark device also came with the Nintendo NES Deluxe Set.
