Animal Crossing: New Horizons is soon approaching its second year anniversary soon! The game was released when the world was entering the first phase of the pandemic, on March 20, 2020. Since then, the game has celebrated its first year anniversary in 2021, which Nintendo commemorated by releasing a commemorative item in the form of a cake.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons might bring in a new second-anniversary update soon

As noted from the previous year, Nintendo had released a commemorative cake in the game in order to celebrate the first anniversary of New Horizons. This came with update 1.9.0, which introduced the cake two days prior to the anniversary, on March 18, 2021. The update brought some really amazing additions to the game as well. The main question that the fans might be pondering right now is: will we get another such commemorative rare item this year?

Another thing that we need to note is that the anniversary cake was removed 41 days after it was introduced. This was done via update 1.10.0. The anniversary cake is not available in the Nook Inc. market anymore. However, there is a slight possibility that this epic and highly adored item might return to the game.

As seen in the above video, datamined information claims that the anniversary cake can be bought for 20,000 bells and sold for 5,000 bells. Again, this item is not available for sale in the game. This gives a slight possibility that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will bring in something special, similar to last year.

Furthermore, as per recent announcements, there won’t be any free major updates for New Horizons. However, this does not mean that there won’t be any minor updates. The current version of ACNH is running on update 2.05.0. The next due update, which should ideally be 2.06.0, is expected to drop right before the anniversary date. This would mean that the cake in the Nook Inc. marketplace might be available around this time.
