Nintendo is on a winning streak this year with all of its releases turning out to be major blockbusters in sales. Firstly, Pokemon Legends: Arceus swayed the fans with an impressive gameplay design. And then, the recent launches in Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Switch also succeeded in becoming smash hits.

However, when it comes to the old classics, then Nintendo, somehow, ignored a major issue in the last week on its Switch Online platform. Thankfully, it has acknowledged the problem now while also delivering a solution for it. There was a serious situation with the N64 classic Kirby 64 that recently arrived on the NSO. But now it’s got a much-needed fix.

Kirby 64 is the 15th and most recent title from the N64 era to make its way on the NSO, for the modern console. It was originally released in 2000, and developed by the HAL Laboratory. It was the first title, in the franchise, to feature 3D graphics. Players take on the role of the pink hero as Kirby goes on a quest to reassemble a sacred crystal destroyed by Dark Matter.

This classic recently made its return on the Nintendo Switch Online as part of the publisher’s drive to bring back more N64 games from the past. However, soon after its debut, players began witnessing a serious game-breaking bug that used to soft-lock them during their sessions.

Apparently, the bug was causing the players to get stuck in a weird animation while being in the underwater levels. And they had only one option to solve it initially: quitting the level. Well, it wasn’t the best solution to say the least as players couldn’t make further progress in Kirby 64.

But Nintendo finally listened to the growing reports and just recently it rolled out a new update for Kirby 64, as reported by VGC. The version 2.3.1 is now available for all the users who were facing the bug in the N64 classic. Hopefully, they won’t face it again while going through underwater levels.

Kirby 64 is now available on the Nintendo Switch Online.
