It’s the holiday season and Christmas eve is just around the corner. So it’s quite obvious that everyone needs some time off the work, even though momentarily. That’s the same thing with Nintendo NYC as well, as the company just announced a shutdown during Christmas, on December 25.

The announcement comes after Nintendo revealed some key advisory to the users who might witness server issues and problems during the Christmas holiday.

Nintendo had shared the news regarding the Switch owners who may face connectivity problems during the weekend. This is expected to happen as there will be a shutdown, which is now officially confirmed as well by the recent Nintendo NYC tweet.

Nintendo Switch owners must prepare for certain issues on Christmas

When it comes to occasional errors and issues, then server glitches are the most common among them. And in terms of Nintendo Switch, this happens a lot, especially during the Holiday season and that too, when there are new users. Issues present themselves when users try connecting to the servers while setting up their profiles.

To resolve all such issues, Nintendo recently shared some suggestions on how to prevent these situations from occurring.

In order to resolve the issue, the new buyers will need to create their individual accounts when using Nintendo Switch Family feature for the first time. And it must be done immediately after purchasing their Switch consoles. Moreover, this should also apply to pre-downloading of the eShop games.

If the users follow this step, they should not get any error, hopefully, during the Christmas holiday.

Speaking of Switch-related issues, last year saw quite a lot of them. Interestingly, it was around the time of Christmas, as it’s a period when there is a lot of traffic overwhelming the servers. It’s the main reason why Nintendo decided to share the details right before Christmas this year, to try to prevent the problem in the first place.

Nintendo Switch fans will be looking forward to the next year as the console is going to complete its fifth year since launch; Switch had initially released on March 3, 2017. The fifth anniversary may also bring exciting offers and promotions for the existing owners.
