In a recent interview with NHK, Shuntaro Furukawa reveals their way of thinking that Nintendo follows with any new technology. The research team of Nintendo does not seek the technology for the sake of it but adopts it only if it pushes the envelope further.

Furukawa said, “I believe the most important thing for our company is not seeking new technologies for novelty’s sake, but rather considering how they can lead to revolutions in the act of play itself.

He further went on to share the company adopts a technology if it “can provide customers with a fresh and surprising experience”. And if they deem a tech meets all their requirements, they make substantial investments in it. His statements about investing further in technology that helps the masses are visible in Nintendo’s plans for their development center.

Nintendo postpones new development center to make a bigger one

Continuing off the statement given by Nintendo’s president, the company is investing in future growth by halting their development center’s construction. Earlier they were building a 12-floor tall building for it.

But now, Nintendo has halted the construction to build a bigger one. According to reports, the new development center will be constructed with new technology having multiple floors added to the 12-floor plan.

The new development center is expected to open its gates by 2028. With Nintendo leading tech innovations from their home base, fans can expect a whole lot of new things from them. Furthermore, Furukawa’s words have given fans hope about the Switch 2 being a one-of-a-kind console.
