The newest update succeeds the previously rolled out 14.1.0 that made its way earlier this month. That one included the newly added “Platinum Points Notification Settings” option. Its purpose was to notify the users about the unclaimed points, under the My Nintendo rewards program.

Before this, there was another update from Nintendo, with the version being 14.0.0. The latter was released in March and introduced the addition of the groups, in place of the folders. It is quite helpful and useful as players can easily arrange and organize their content on their Switch.

Now that update 14.1.1 is here, it may indicate that the Mario maker is already preparing for an upcoming release, Nintendo Switch Sports. It is a sports simulation title that will make its way as the first entry in the Wii Sports games franchise. Switch Sports is set to launch on April 29, 2022, for the handheld console.

It might be the case that the latest update is intended to make the upcoming game better optimized for the players. This implies that the overall experience will be top-notch, to say the least. Especially considering the recent success of two Nintendo blockbusters in Arceus and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
