Nintendo Switch Sports, which made its debut last week, has opened at the number one spot in the UK sales. It also implies that it outperformed other heavyweights, even including its own Nintendo counterparts as well.

For those uninitiated, Switch Sports is the sequel to the Wii Sports title from 2006. Played with the Joy Con controller, it offers various sports to enjoy solo, with friends or family members like soccer, badminton, chambara, golf, among others.

The latest Nintendo offering clinched the first position while managing to keep other competitors behind. Furthermore, it’s the third biggest launch in the UK for its own franchise. Only Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are ahead of the newest entry.
