Nintendo reveals massive plans expansion plans and fans have every reason to be excited! In new reports, sources have revealed that Nintendo is planning to expand their on-ground facilities based in Kyoto, Japan. The two-fold development plans will pave the way for promising development and enhancement of titles, as well as non-gaming prospects of the company.

Nintendo set to start 2022 with impressive changes

The Nintendo Kyoto Research Center in Kyoto will expand its premises soon, according to Nikkei. To start things off in the coming year, the gaming company will rent certain floors of a government-owned building, Kyoto City Waterworks Bureau, starting from May 2022 to build on its current game development capabilities.

The second step would see Nintendo construct a new brand-new building at the same location; which, many speculate, could be the future headquarters for the company.

Nintendo’s success spells great news for fans

Earlier, reports from this month revealed Nintendo would invest up to $880 million USD to increase its internal game development capabilities. Now, to fuel the same plans, the new rented facility will also aim to develop titles internally. Instead of the current ideology of outsourcing, much like the recent games that are designed for Nintendo consoles.

However, the promotion of in-house and original production of titles does not mean the company will close doors to any possible acquisitions. The aforementioned is highly plausible, especially after the recent news of Nintendo’s first buyout in over ten years. Nintendo acquired Next Level Games recently which takes credit for games such as Luigi’s Mansion 3.

Additionally, the company will also look to broaden the horizon on the cinematic aspects of its games. Much like the Chris Pratt starter Super Mario movie, which still remains untitled, that launches in the coming year.

With Nintendo set to switch to in-house development for future titles, and more Nintendo games-inspired movies probably launching in the coming years, the future certainly looks reassuring for Nintendo fans across the world.
