Games like Uncharted and God of War are Sony’s exclusive properties. So, gamers had to buy PlayStation to enjoy these games. Along with it being a significant win for gamers, it would also be a considerable success, instead of being a loss for companies. In recent years, many consoles have ported some of their successful video games over to other platforms, with the results bearing great fruits.

Sony ported the Spider-Man game to PC four years after its release on PlayStation, which didn’t affect their console’s sales. They have already earned the majority of the profit in the four years. So porting the famous game to another platform helped them make more money rather than bear a loss.
