With the recent changes in the guidelines of the YouTube Partner Program, the platform might just have given a major headache to its rivals like Twitch and Kick. The most recent conditions for content producers to join the YouTube Partner Programme and monetize their channels were revealed by YouTube and the fans have welcomed the new changes in policies.

Informing the changes in the policies of the YouTube Partner Programme (YPP), the platform tweeted, “BIG NEWS!!  you can now unlock earlier access to YPP fan funding & more with fewer subs, Shorts views, and content watch hours.” Adding further to the update,  the handle wrote, “soo if you have 500 subs, 3 public uploads in the last 90 days and either 3K long form watch hours in the last 12 months *or* 3M Shorts views in the last 90 days, you can apply to YPP to unlock access to Super Thanks, Super Chat, Super Stickers, channel memberships, & Shopping.”

According to the change in criteria, a creator with as minimum as 500 subscribers having three public uploads in the past 90 days would be eligible to access monetization. With a watch time of 3000 hours or 3M views on a YouTube short in 90 days, you will be able to unlock fan funding.

The new requirements are definitely aid for smaller thriving creators. The new policies will help content creators earn early than ever. This will further promote young small creators to build a community of their own. The phased rollout will begin inUnited States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, and Taiwan.
