The latest episode of The Last of Us recently surfaced, and it showed us one of the darkest moments in Ellie’s life, just the way Episode 7 showed us the saddest and most personal moments in her life, It’s not as if fans get many cheerful moments in this series anyway. They just keep getting their hearts broken again and again.

The upcoming season finale of the series is not going to be any less of a heartbreak and it is set to give fans an awaited cameo as well as the conclusion of this long-running tale.

Ashley Johnson’s character in “The Last of Us” gets a name

Ashley Johnson was the one who gave Ellie’s character everything that she has today. Her voice, her mannerisms, and some of her character, the character that everyone fell in love with. And as promised, the creators of the series have given her a cameo role in this series.

Although many actors in the game have had a number of cameos to play in the series, the one Ashley would play is pretty distinctive. There are some strong speculations and hints from co-creator Neil Druckmann that she would be playing Ellie’s mother.

She plays “Anna,” a pregnant woman, and this thought keeps getting stronger and stronger that she might be playing Ellie’s mother. If she is, it would be interesting to see what fate awaits her after Ellie is born.

In the games, it was implied very heavily that Marlene and Ellie’s mother knew each other, but in Episode 7, Ellie is shown as a cadet in the military. It would be curious to see how all that came to pass. All these questions will be answered soon enough when the series finale launches.

Fans have their own speculations

This image has started a discussion amongst fans; some wonder if this character dies of an infected bite and that’s why Ellie is born immune. And others just want Ashley to play an older Ellie in season 2 of this series.

We would see what character Ashley ends up playing and how it elevates the experience of this season’s finale. Let us not forget the series is so popular that people at HBO are already fast-forwarding the production of season 2.
